Lady Rattlers crown 1K point scorer

The Navasota Lady Rattlers began District 25-4A play last week with a win, and had another player reach the 1,000-point scoring milestone.

 

Nala Richardson scored 17 points and dished out seven assists during 75-47 home non-district win against the Burton Lady Panthers Friday, Dec. 16., to lead the Lady Rattlers. The performance of the senior guard pushed her over 1,000 points scored in her career.

 

Navasota (19-1, 1-0) held a slim 33-31 lead over Burton at halftime, but shifted gears outscoring the Lady Panthers 42-16 in the final half. 

 

Jalyn Williams scored 12 for the Lady Rattlers and grabbed nine rebounds. Bryanna Stokes added 11 points and nine boards.

 

VS Needville

All Lady Rattler teams combined for a sweep in the District 25-4A opener Tuesday, Dec. 20, against Needville. Varsity defeated the Lady Bluejays 55-6, JV won 50-12, and the freshman team held onto a 25-23 win. Junior varsity improves to 14-2 on the season and the freshman remain undefeated (8-0).

 

Navasota traveled to Royal for a varsity only district game against the Lady Falcons (results were not available at press time). Varsity plays at the Leander Glenn Holiday Classic Dec. 28-29.
