Skylar Mast led the University of Arkansas at Monticello women’s golf scorers in the team’s most recent tournament.

The Richards High School graduate shot 160 (80-80) to tie for 29th overall. She led the Blossoms for the second time in three fall events.

“It could have been better,” she said. “It was pretty windy. The conditions weren’t that great. It made it a lot more difficult.”

The wind persisted for both rounds. “It was such a strong wind,” she said. “The wind blew all the time.”

In the previous tournament, Mast carded 161 (79-82) to place 11th overall and second among the Blossoms. She tied for the team’s low score and finished 55th overall with a 161 (76-85) in the season opener.

The results have shown her work during the summer to improve all parts of her game. She practiced three or four days a week.

“My short game, my putting and my chipping have really pulled me through and helped,” she said.
