Rattlers host bi-district playoffs May 6

The stage is set for a winner-take-all 4A Bi-District Playoff matchup between the Navasota Rattlers and Mickey Leland College Prep Academy Knights Friday, May 6, at Navasota High School’s Boenker Field. First pitch is set for 8 p.m.

Navasota finished third in District 24-4A with a 6-4 record. The Knights finished second in District 23-4A with a 12+2 record.

The Rattlers played a warmup game at Madisonville Friday, April 29, defeating the Mustangs 4-3. Senior shortstop John Lee led the Rattlers at the plate going 2-3, scoring a pair of runs and driving in one. He also walked once. Other Rattlers part of Navasota’s six-hit performance were Cameron Quezada, 1-4 with an RBI; Devin Nunez, 1-2, with an RBI and a pair of walks; Jaden Fox, 1-3 with a walk and two runs scored and Gordon Young, 1-2 with a walk.

Cade Richards pitched four innings allowing one earned run, three hits and striking out three. Nunez picked up the win with two innings pitched, allowing two runs, one earned, one walk and a hit. He struck out three. Fox pitched one scoreless inning striking out one.
