At a Special Meeting Jan. 9, Grimes County commissioners responded to the dumping of eight barrels of unknown substance by unknown persons on CR 306 New Year’s Eve by approving an emergency contract for testing and disposal with Masters ARS Environmental Response Services. The motion capped payment at $12,000 from contingency funds based on the estimated $1,500 per barrel test cost and stated Judge Joe Fauth will sign the contract and Emergency Management Coordinator David Lilly will approve work orders.
