In August of 2007, Margaret McClosky was serving as the parish secretary for St. Mary’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Churches in Plantersville/Stoneham. She left there to take the job as secretary to the principal at Anderson-Shiro High School. That’s when I replaced her as parish secretary of the two churches. Margaret left the school district in December of 2011 to go to work at Texas A&M. She returned back to the school district in June of 2013 when Pat Sechelski retired and has been the secretary to the superintendent until she retired recently in November of this year. A retirement party was held for her in the A-S CISD Board Room on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 8. Margaret took a part-time job at Scott & White Hospital working from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. each day and is loving her extra time off. Congratulations, Margaret!

Russell Pasket and Lacy Neyland said their “I do’s” to each other on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 11, in Franklin, TX. The couple was united in marriage at the Franklin Church of Christ with Jimmy Reagan officiating. After the ceremony, all in attendance headed to Navasota for a dinner and dance reception at the Grimes County Expo Center that evening. Russell is the son of Charlie and Debbie Pasket of Anderson and Lacy is the daughter of Wade and Jennifer Neyland of Franklin.

The holiday season is here and will be gone as fast as it came. Lots of events and activities going on and let’s not forget the shopping! Shopping is something I haven’t gotten to experience yet this year. Hopefully this coming weekend I will set my mind at ease by getting some or all of that done! I know the Christmas season is not about the shopping but unfortunately that comes along with the season! Wish me luck! I’m making my list and checking it twice.
