Iola Youth Athletics has opened registration for little diggers volleyball. This is for girls in second grade through sixth grade. The cost is $40 per child and $35 for each additional sibling. All games will be played on Saturdays in September and October. Registration deadline is Aug. 30. Payment is due upon registration. Your child will not be placed on a team without payment. Forms and payment may be returned to the elementary office. Make checks payable to Iola Youth Athletics.

Attention Iola ISD elementary parents. This is a message from the elementary administration. “Our previous plans for our after-school program fell through at the last minute but we are creating our own after school program this year. We are working on the details now, and it will begin after the first six weeks. More info to come.”

Iola residents Aug. 31 there will be a Spaghetti and Ice Cream Social at the Iola Fire Station on Brazos beginning at 11 a.m.

Junior varsity and varsity volleyball will play in Somerville Aug. 30 with the games starting at 4 p.m.

After watching the girls play volleyball, stay in Somerville a little longer to cheer on the football team. Their game will begin at 7 p.m. in Somerville.
