Bedias Civic Club meets tomorrow
Did you notice the Justice for Anthony Williams poster at the Bedias Dollar General store recently? We must continue to support our neighbors and continue to press for the diligent prosecution of those responsible for Anthony’s killing.
The Bedias Civic Club will meet Thursday, June 2, at 6 p.m., for a community potluck and an interesting program. Visit www.facebook.com/BediasCivicClubAssoc, for more information. The civic club has been quiet for most of this year and last due to COVID concerns and it is very heartwarming to see activities pick up in town, including the upcoming July 4 fireworks celebration set for 7 p.m., at the civic center.
First Home Improvement (the Bedias feed store), is sponsoring a Farmer’s Market the second Saturday, June 11 through Aug. 13, from 8 a.m. until noon, featuring fresh produce, eggs, and much more. Also, the Bedias Women’s Club is now taking reservations for booths for the Bedias Country Market slated for Oct. 27, at the Bedias Civic Center. Inside booths are $20 and outside booths are $10. This is a fundraiser for the annual Veterans Day Dinner and for local scholarships for Iola and Madisonville ISD. We have not been able to provide the scholarships the last two years because of COVID. Contact Mackie with any questions.
