FREE Bingo Tuesdays at VFW

Sometimes I tease that I am a redneck. Well, I guess it is confirmed as Little Man could not wait for swim trunks to get into his little pool, so I just took off all his clothes outside and let him go. At least I moved away from the road.

I would like to invite people to come to FREE Bingo on Tuesday nights at the VFW Post 4006 beginning at 5:30 p.m. While the prizes are not money or big items, people have been donating very nice gifts for the black-out game. There is always food to purchase made by Chef Jim and cold beer.

There will also be a Queen of Hearts game at the Post some Friday nights. The dates should be listed on the Grimes County VFW Post 4006 Facebook page.

The VFW Auxiliary returned to the Post for their monthly business meetings. It was good to be home. The Post side served spaghetti, meatballs, salad, garlic bread and brownies. We were spoiled.

Barbara and Art Courville have a big day next week. They will be married 50 years. Happy anniversary to both of you.

Please add our sick and homebound friends to your prayer list. This week another White Hall community resident, Allen Stafford, passed away. He was another victim of the dreaded “C” disease. Mr. Stafford was also a lifetime member of the VFW and a supporter of the White Hall Community VFD. Please keep his wife, Lynda and family in your prayers.

Each Monday of the Week, Clothes Closet, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Grimes St. Joseph Hospital, but clothes can be dropped off Monday-Friday at the hospital.

Each Tuesday, FREE Bingo at the VFW Post, 5:30 p.m. Food will be available for purchase.

Aug. 5 – WHCVFD sandwich sales, 11 a.m. until sold out.

Aug. 5 – District 17 VFW Meeting, Katy.

Aug. 7 – WHCVFD monthly meeting at 7 p.m., community invited.

Aug. 17 – Sonshine Sisters, 10 a.m. at the Educational Bldg.
