Free GED classes at Navasota Center

City of Navasota is partnering with Living in Triumph for their 3rd annual Easter Egg Hunt Friday, April 7, from noon to 2 p.m. at August Horst Park. The free event includes food, fun, photos, prizes and more.

 

Free GED Classes will be held at the Navasota Center. For more information call 936-438-1756 or email adulted505@gmail.com.

 

Bedias Farmer's Market, 22026 Hwy 90 is the second Saturday of each month. April 8 is the next date.

 

The inaugural Iola Community Spring Bazaar is seeking vendors (plants, farmer's market items, local artisans, food). Contact Mari Salas Perez via her Facebook page (Mari's Holiday Decor) for more information.

 

Grimes County Animal Rescue, 1168 CR280 in Anderson will host a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house April 2, at noon.

 

The Plantersville-Stoneham VFD annual bazaar is April 16, at 15985 FM 1774 in Plantersville. The bazaar will feature food, games, an auction, raffle and more. Volunteers are needed. For more information visit www.planters-stoneham-vfd.com.

 

Saddle Up and prepare to run cancer out of town at the annual Grimes County Relay for Life April 14, from 6:30-10 p.m. The event will be held at Navasota City Hall. Follow the Relay for Life of Grimes County Facebook page for more information.

 

A Community Service Project Book Drive is being hosted by 4-H through May 29. They are collecting gently used books for children, teens and adults. Tag in for Market Swine is March 21, from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Fairgrounds. ShoWorks Registration Deadline is March 23. Entry Fee is $15 per head at tag in.

 

Millican Heritage BBQ Cookoff is March 31 – April 1 at the Millican Community Center.

 

Save the date for the Yard, Arts & Crafts Show at the Bedias Civic Center, 3652 E. Main St. in Bedias on April 29, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. They also need vendors.

Free Groceries are available every third Thursday of the month, 11 a.m. at Relay Station in Plantersville for families in Plantersville/Stoneham/Todd Mission. 

Save the date for the 11th Annual Plantersville Crawfish Festival and Cook-Off Saturday, April 29, at 11:30 a.m.

 

Applications are open for MidSouth Electric Scholarships. Graduating seniors planning to attend college, university, trade or technical school may apply for a $1,000 scholarship. Parents or legal guardians must be a member of MidSouth Electric Co-op. The application deadline is March 30.

 

Macedonia Baptist Church, 6957 CR206, Plantersville "Blackberry Community" invites Grimes County out to their Outreach/Health Fair on Saturday, April 15, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. There will be resources to help the community such as MD Anderson, Texas Children’s Hospital, security information, food, clothing etc. Anyone who wants to be a part of this event or to donate, contact Ever Johnson, 936-894-2094.
