Full house welcomes Waitress & Baldwin

The monthly meeting of the Keith Civic Club will be held at the Keith Community Center Thursday, Feb. 27, 6:30 p.m. Do bring a little extra food this time. There will be a political rally for those running in the election Tuesday, March 3. The rally will begin at 7:15 p.m. please make plans to attend.

Election time is finally here. All polling place will open March 3, from 7 a.m. till 7 p.m. including the one at the Keith Community Center. Voting will include national, state and county offices. Your vote is important so do your civic duty and vote. It may be your vote that puts a person into office, or keeps them out.

There was a full house in the Bluebonnet Room at the Navasota Community Center Tuesday, Feb. 18 as community members welcomed back Frederic Baldwin and Wendy Waitress who spent 10 or so years in Grimes County during 1972-1985. They traveled all over the county taking pictures. Refreshments were served as the community members enjoyed the presentation. It was certainly good to see them again.

The Carlos Missionary Baptist Church has changed its name. They are now the Carlos Fellowship Church. Brother Joe Saffle is still the pastor and nothing other than the name has changed. They invite everyone to attend their services.

In the town of Iola, I noted that the former home of Oma and Ruby Webb was torn down. The old building behind it was burned some time ago and now the house is gone as well. Sorry to see old places go but times change.

The monthly meeting of Bedias Masonic Lodge No. 651 is Tuesday, March 3 at 6:30 p.m. with their covered dish meal, their business meeting will follow at 7 p.m. The Orphans Friend Masonic Lodge No. 17 will host their meeting Monday, March 2, beginning at 6 p.m. All Masons are invited to attend these meetings.
