Whitehall News

Normally I don’t bet, but I would bet that most of you like cookies. The reason I have mentioned this is because the Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aid are having their third Annual Christmas Cookie Walk Sale & Christmas Store Saturday, Dec. 7. at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Cookies are sold for $7 a dozen but if you buy 2 dozen, the price will be lowered to $6 per dozen. These awesome cooks at Trinity may just surprise you with their goodies!

Janis Frenzel and I tried to assist the Grimes Resource group with a “Gobble till you Wobble” event. This event is held to teach the kiddos about healthy eating, conduct eye tests, a little art, a bit of exercise and a bag full of goodies to take home. I was assigned to the art table to assist making foam Christmas trees. I was tickled at one little boy who took his string of beads apart and placed them all over the tree rather than in a line, like most did. He is just like me. He has that ornament placement disorder! And about that healthy eating part, I was a bit depressed with the young lady showing the amounts of oil and grease in foods. Sad moment for me.

Please keep the family of Mr. Earl Musgrove in your prayers. He passed away Tuesday.

Abbreviated schedule for Lynn Grove UMC for Dec.:

Advent services Dec. 1, 8, 15, 22, 24 and 29. All services begin at 9 a.m. with exception of Dec. 24, which begins at 3 p.m.

Yep, I was correct. Joni basically ran with the pumpkin roll and hid it from everyone. Bean asked what it was, and she flat told him it was none of his business. I laughed. Her meal was great, as usual, and I came home with leftovers. Yay me!

It just doesn’t seem like Christmas should already be next month. Normally, I would have most of my shopping done but I seem to be running behind this year. I had the best intentions to conclude my shopping early but that has not happened. I hope everyone else has planned better than me.

Our sick and homebound friends include Sue Kolojaco, Lawrence Lieder, Dorothy Mahaffey, Mary Bauer, Albin Finke, Rosa Finke, Lois Bell, Rickey Binford, Leon Gorney, Doug Taylor, Garry Wise, Kathy Cave Wells, Glenn Binder, Pauline Kaspar and Alexander Hanna, grandson of Curtis and Darla Kolojaco. Please add these friends to your prayer list.
