The 2022 Primary Election is beginning soon. The last day to register to vote is Monday, Jan. 31. Final day to request a ballot by mail is Feb. 18. Early voting days are Feb. 14 through Feb. 25, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Early voting locations include Grimes County Courthouse, 100 South Main Street in Anderson and at the Navasota Center, 101 Stadium Drive in Navasota. Extended voting hours are Tuesday, Feb. 15 and Tuesday, Feb. 25, from 7 a.m. till 7 p.m. Election day is Tuesday, March 1.

Grimes County Go Texan BBQ Cook-off with the Plantersville Swangers will be held Saturday, Jan. 29, from 4-8 p.m. The event will be held at Grimes County Fairgrounds in Navasota. Live music will be provided by Koka Kola Cowboyz.
The second annual A Cause For Paws Fundraiser Festival benefitting the Grimes County Animal Rescue will be held Saturday, March 26, at 5:30 p.m. at the Grimes County Expo Center. Music will be provided by Derek Spence, a tribute to George Strait.

Monday, April 18, is the deadline to file your taxes due to the holiday in the federal capital. Federal offices will be closed Friday, April 15. April 18 will also be the deadline to request an automatic extension for an extra six months to file a return though the payment of taxes remain the same.
Beginning Feb. 2, Grimes County Commissioners Court meetings will be held in the new Grimes County Justice & Business Center. The official ribbon cutting of the center was held Friday, Dec. 31.
