Friday was the final home basketball game for the Yeguas against Iola. I can’t recall the final score for the JV team because I got so excited about the antics of DaeDae, one of the players. Not sure why he came out of his shell, but he sure did. Had he worn a striped shirt I would have thought he was the referee.

Bryanna and her team played too. Goodness, she took this game very serious and actually made eight points. Her mama bribed her with a movie and Starbucks. She made sure to hold up two fingers each time she made that basket so all could see. Then one player basically handed her the floor, and her lip was the first to hit that floor.Alittle wipe and ice and she went back out there. The Grimes County team won big time, but Bree won too. The Varsity boys won in a very close and exciting game.

Thanks to all the customers who came and purchased a sandwich Saturday from the White Hall Community VFD. It was a good sale. The group met Monday for the monthly business meeting. It was a short meeting that included ideas for fundraising and information that our training instructor, Christopher Vickers, put in action.

The Yoga for a Cause is led by Jolleen Christians and all donations are given to the VFD. Feb. 25 is the next date beginning at 11 a.m.

When my daughters attended school, the Navasota Auditorium used to be very crowded for school functions, However, there were a lot of empty seats at the band concert Tuesday. The junior high and the high school bands both played and sounded good. The high school director spoke of how students can participate in other areas of school while being in band such as football, dance team, cheerleading and theatre. His talk reminded me of Jordan who played football from junior high thru high school and played in the band. Chucky and Ethan both play a sport along with band. Ethan is also very active in 4-H.
