Letter to the editor

January 29, 2020 - 00:00

Dear Editor,

This is to announce to the many supporters of the Grimes County Crime Stoppers’ annual law enforcement awards dinner, that no, we have not forgotten and YES, we will be holding the event but just later this year. This year’s date change is based solely on internal technicalities.

The Grimes County Crime Stoppers is a “community-based partnership formed by dedicated citizens, law enforcement and the media working toward a common goal: the reduction of crime and the arrest and conviction of criminals.”

Our existence and mission would not be possible without the hard-working law enforcement officers and support personnel within Grimes County. The awards dinner is our way of thanking them and recognizing acts of heroism, dedication to duty and other self-less acts performed on a daily basis. It also allows us to show our appreciation to their families who live daily with a level of uncertainty but who continue to love and support them.

We have received many inquiries about the awards dinner, reconfirming for us the support of county residents and businesses our officers serve. Once the date has been set, we will publicize it though our friends at the Navasota Examiner, Navasota News and on our Grimes County Crime Stoppers Facebook page.

We look forward to partnering with individuals, businesses and organizations in recognizing our 2019 law enforcement award winners.

Sincerely,

Bob Goldstein, President

Grimes County Crime
