Keep Navasota Beautiful (KNB) and Girl Scout Troop 9067 teamed up at August Horst Park, Saturday, Nov. 9, to spread awareness of the value of recycling through “Recycle Kick.”

In addition to hot dogs grilled by KNB chairman Brittany Bay, participants enjoyed craft time and used a number of items found around the home and office to create artwork and festive party decorations.

On display were fun facts about how items generally tossed in the trash can be reused, recycled and repurposed.

KNB encourages residents to “kick” into the habit of recycling paper, cardboard and plastic at the City of Navasota Recycling Station at 501 Fifth Street. The station is open Saturday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
