The City of Navasota is bringing a one night only show of the popular Bonnie & Clyde story by Texas Comedies to Navasota this fall.

The stand-alone show is 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Brosig Performing Arts Center, 105 Brosig Avenue.

In this irreverent new musical comedy about the notorious Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, a man obsessed with Bonnie, pursues the two gangsters relentlessly. This “mostly true” one-hour show with a live band is based on postman- turned-deputy Ted Hinton’s memoir, as well as newspaper and crime magazine stories of the 1930s.

Navasota’s history runs deep with a connection to the infamous Bonnie and Clyde story. Frank Hamer served as Navasota’s city marshal in the early 1900s. The lawman later led the 1934 posse that tracked down and killed Bonnie and Clyde.

“We’re excited to bring this particular show to Navasota to pay homage to Navasota’s history with the Bonnie & Clyde story,” said Navasota Marketing and Communications Director Bobbie Lehrmann.

The city is partnering with Navasota Independent School District to ensure the theater performance is a success by utilizing their facilities. The City plans to donate a portion of funds made from the show back to NISD’s High School Theatre programs.

Tickets are currently on sale for $10 each plus fees. Children 12 years of age and younger are free. Purchase tickets at http:// www.outhousetickets.com/ Event/22094-Bonnie__ Clyde_A_Musical_Comedy/.
