Grimes County judge, Joe Fauth III, served as a moderator at the 2023 National Conference of Regions in Washington, D.C., Jan. 22-25. Fauth, current president of the Brazos Valley Council of Governments and NARC board member, led the discussion on “Transportation: A Critical Need for Older Americans.”

The National Conference of Regions is the National Association of Regional Council’s (NARC) forum in Washington, D.C., which discusses key policy issues and establishes a legislative agenda for the year ahead, with congressional and executive officials through substantive breakout sessions, and committee meetings.

NARC is made up of regional councils, councils of government (COGs), regional planning and development agencies and Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs).

Session topics ranged from what a responsible federal budget looks like to economic development to expectations of the 118th Congress.
