Many of the Grimes County Historical Commission members attended the, “Real Places 2020 Conference” held in Austin, Texas, Jan. 29-31 where Grimes County was selected to receive the 2020 Courthouse Stewardship Award of honor. The award was presented to Al Peeler, chairman of the Grimes County Historical Commission, by Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation origram Director Sharon Fleming. Along with the award, a check for $1,000 from the Friends of Texas Historical Commission, Inc., was presented to Grimes County Judge, Joe Fauth.
