ANDERSON- Tyrus Jamond Peters, age 22 of Humble plead guilty to the 2016 murder of David Brown, age 19, from Conroe. Brown was shot at a residence in Stoneham.

Peters was tried for the murder of Brown previously before a Grimes County jury in 2017 but the trial resulted in a hung jury.

A jury was selected Tuesday, Aug. 6. Peters arrived for court the following day and through his attorney Laurie Sellers, indicated he wanted to plea guilty and accept a 15-year prison sentence. The plea was previously rejected.

Grimes County District Attorney Andria Bender visited with Brown’s family and they indicated they wanted prosecutors to accept the plea and spare them going through another trial.
