A mobile mammogram bus will be available at Navasota Public Library July 12, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
The Breast Cancer Screening and Prevention Center at Texas Southern University, tsu.edu, in partnership with The Rose, therose.org, will offer free mammograms. Insurance is not required. The bus will be available to the first 27 women, 40 years of age or older. Apply at form.jotform. com/230614713241142. This link has information specific to Navasota and includes Spanish.
Those who are not among the first 27 will be given information about how to receive the free service at another location. Xiomara Ardon, Program Manager of TSU BCSPC said, “Our goal is to close the gap in health disparities and provide uninsured and underinsured women breast cancer screenings, diagnostic services, navigation and barrier reduction services, as well as education about cancer prevention at no cost.”
