COVID-19 is not stopping the Navasota Noon Lions Club from serving the local community!

As they have done for the past 34 years, the Navasota Noon Lions Club is kicking off their annual Gun and Gift Card Raffle. Raffle tickets are now on sale, with proceeds going to help those in the community who need it most. Tickets are $50 each and there will be 52 winners (two numbers drawn at each Navasota Noon Lions Club meeting). There are 1,000 tickets to be sold and 52 prizes, 40 guns and 12 $500 gift cards. The winning numbers are posted on the Navasota Noon Lions Club Facebook page the day of the drawings.

“The bonus is that each person who buys a ticket has 52 separate chances to win,” said Karen Newman, Ticket Raffle Chairperson. If a person wins once, that does not exclude them from winning a second, third or fourth time, because the winning number goes back into the drawing.” The drawing begins December 2021 and runs through November 2022.

Most of the money raised through the raffle ticket sales stays local. “There are people in Navasota that need help now more than ever and that is where our focus is placed,” explains Newman. Ongoing local community and Texas area projects supported by the Navasota Noon Lions Club includes eyeglass collections for recycling, eye exams/glasses for individuals, donations to area food pantries, youth organizations, NHS Scholarships, local park equipment and the Texas Lions Camp just to name a few.

“Tickets are on sale now and we usually sell out quickly,” added Newman.

If you are interested in purchasing tickets and supporting the community, you may reach out to Buck Isbell, 979-451-2594 or Dean Heard, 832-434-1509.
