Pocahontas attend state conference

Pocahontas Society Children of the American Revolution of Navasota attended the Texas State Children of the American Revolution conference in Pflugerville March 30-31, earning severalawards.

 

Awards include: State Merit Gold Award; Most Outstanding Society 26-39 members; State President contest – Most informative Program - Outstanding Achievement, Best Letter Written to Buffalo Soldier - First Place to Reagan Meredith; Society Best History Book - First Place; Government Studies - Second Place for Best Society Program; Second Place for Best Conservation Program; Second Place for Best Kids Helping Kids Program. 

 

Reagan Meredith won third place in the State Chaplin Prayer Contest. Lindley Mayfield, Everly Lawrence and Scarlett Proske accumulated 12 awards for their efforts in various contests. The many awards reflected the hard work done by members in the community. 

 

Three members were also elected to serve as Texas State CAR officers: Reagan Meredith, TSCAR Second Vice President; Kenzi May Stewart, TSCAR Treasurer; Bonnie Meredith, TSCAR Historian.  

 

Members attending were Mackenzie Mayfield, Curator; Bella Proske, Corresponding Secretary; Kenzie May Stewart, First Vice President; Bonnie Meredith, Second Vice President; Scarlett Proske, Treasurer; Reagan Meredith, President; Lindley Mayfield, Historian; and Everly Lawrence, Librarian.
