Post #4006 aids fellow vets

In mid-March, devastating floods overtook a large portion of the state of Nebraska. Grimes County VFW Post #4006 Adjutant Gerald Fontaine and his wife, Auxiliary member Mary Fontaine, contacted Post Commander Carl Dry to suggest sending relief packages for fellow VFW members in the areas impacted by the floods. The Nebraska VFW headquarters supplied addresses for the post and soon boxes filled with knitted hats, light blankets, toiletries and more were on their way to VFW Post #8223 in North Bend, Nebraska. The donations continue to be a necessity and anyone wishing to donate may contact Grimes County VFW Post #4006 at 936-825-3666.
