Florida will hear the rattle of Venom (Hunter Haug) as the Navasota High School mascot will perform pregame at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida Saturday, Jan. 1.

Haug, a senior at Navasota High School, is one of more than 50 mascots who earned the opportunity to perform at the prestigious bowl game. The bowl game gives cheerleaders and dancers the opportunity to perform at the seventh oldest collegiate bowl in the country, that attracts over 60,000 fans annually. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit Walt Disney World® Resort.

Mascots will travel along with cheerleading and dance team members to Orlando for a week of rehearsals dedicated to preparing them for their Citrus Bowl pre-game performance

The individuals invited to perform in the pre-game performance are Mascot All-Americans from Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) and National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) summer camps, two brands under the Varsity Spirit umbrella. All-Americans are selected via tryout based on their overall character development and crowd leading skills. Only the top 10% of the mascots attending UCA or NCA camps earn the chance to perform in this year’s Bowl.

In June, Haug earned the title of UCA All-American Mascot as well as Camp Champion and the Leadership Award at the Mascot Camp in Galveston. He bleeds blue and white and takes pride in pumping up Rattler fans under the Friday night lights!

Haug is excited for the opportunity to represent the City of Navasota, Navasota ISD and all of Rattler Nation in Florida.
