Rep. Ben Leman runs unopposed for HD 13 position

AUSTIN- State Representative Ben Leman announced he will be running unopposed in his re-election bid to represent House District 13. Dec. 9, at 6 p.m. was the filing deadline for any candidates wishing to be placed on the ballot. The day concluded with no other contestants having filed to run.

Representative Leman attributes this to staying focused on the issues most important to his constituents, having a productive and hardworking staff, and getting the job done. This past Legislative Session, Rep. Leman was instrumental in helping pass legislation to address school finance reform a n d property tax relief. He fought to protect landowners from eminent domain abuse, reduced government intrusion on Texans, worked tirelessly to protect the lives of the unborn, and protected 2nd Amendment rights.

“The recently concluded Legislative Session was a successful one not only for our district, but the state as a whole, and I am proud of all the work we were able to accomplish. It has been one of my greatest honors to Represent House District 13 and I am looking forward to continuing to do so,” stated Leman. “With Governor Greg Abbott’s endorsement and the support of my constituents, I know we can accomplish even more next session.”

Rep. Leman was originally sworn into office as State Representative of House District 13 on May 31, 2018 and then re-elected November of that same year. He currently serves on the House Committee on Transportation, Land and Resource Management Committee, and Redistricting Committee. House District 13 is comprised of Austin, Burleson, Colorado, Fayette, Grimes, Lavaca, and Washington counties.
