Elizabeth “Betty Bright Haltmar, 89, of Navasota, passed away Thursday, June 13.

Betty was born in Dallas, Texas October 16, 1929 to Delphard Wallace Bright and Adaline Pinney Bright.

She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1947, and married John Bobbie Haltmar June 26, 1948. Together they raised four children. They lived in Navasota all of their married life. She worked as operator for the Navasota Police Department, secretary for Grimes County Extension Office and at the Navasota Public Library. She was also a member of the Veterans’ of Foreign War Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Betty was preceded in death by her mother Adeline Pinney Bright, father Delphard Wallace Bright, brother Wallace Bright, sister Jean, husband John Bobbie, son John Steven Haltmar, daughter Donna Jenson and son-in-law’s Thomas Kettler and Lee Roy Condrey.

She is survived by daughter Beverly Condrey, son Joseph Edward Haltmar and wife Betty Haltmar, daughter Pinney Kettler, nephews Craig Bright and wife Kelsey, Dell Bright and wife Cathy, Scott Bright and wife Sheri. She is survived by her grandchildren Clay Condrey and wife Elizabeth, Kyle Condrey and wife Jessica, Jon Jensen and wife Lindsey, Larry Jensen, Cody Haltmar and life partner Wes, Chase Haltmar, Chad Kettler, Will Kettler and wife Flor, Josh Kettler and wife Emily. Her great grandchildren Cash Condrey, Easton Condrey, Blake Condrey, Jaxon and McKenzie Wendt, Brantley Jensen, Haylie and Emily Jensen, Ely Kettler, Judah Kettler and Levi Radcliff-Haltmar. She is also survived by great nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial contributions be made to Brazos Valley Hospice, 3600 State Hwy 6 South, College Station, Texas 77845.
