Hartley Kent “Bud” Todee, 93, of Richards, formerly of Houston, died Friday, February 21, 2020 at his home.

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1, at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 2, in Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy., in Houston with military honors. Dr. George Klett will officiate.

Bud was born on Sunday, August 22, 1926 in Dallas to Gilbert C. and Edna Vera Eaton Todee. He graduated from North Dallas High School and attended SMU. Bud served his country during WWII by enlisting in the U.S. Marines were he served in the Pacific from 1944 to 1947. He later proudly became a life member of VFW Post 5619.

It was in 1950 that he married the love of his life, Ilene Alderman, a woman with three sons and was blessed with the birth of another son and daughter. Bud worked for Baker Oil Tools as an engineer and was one of five engineers that designed the first horizontal drill bits. A devoted member of St. John the Divine Episcopal Church in Houston, Bud was a lay reader and choir member for many years. During that time, he toured Europe with the choir.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, as well as his wife of 21 years and three sons, John, Larry and James.

Survivors include his son, Stephen Todee and wife Bonnie of Brenham and daughter Patricia Graham of Richards; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and greatgreat grandchildren.
