Hilma Marie Hulda Holle Stolz, 94, of Navasota, died Wednesday evening, November 27, at her home.

A gathering of family and friends was held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 1, at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home. Funeral services took place 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 2, at Friedens Church of Washington, UCC with Pastor Eric Dehmer as the officiant. Interment followed in Friedens Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were John Walkoviak, Der-roll Herzog, Preston Boenker, Russel Borgesstde, John Milligan and David Stolz. Named as honorary pallbearers are Terry Campbell, OraNell James, Raymond “Dickie” Dickschat, Dan Mohr and John Barton.

Hilma was born Saturday, December 13, 1924, to Willie H. and Adele Lauter Holle in Washington County at Washington-on-the Brazos. A lifelong member of Friedens Church of Washington, UCC, Hilma was baptized on February 8, 1925 and later confirmed on March 17, 1940 at Friedens Church. She attended Brown’s Prairie School in Washington and graduated from Navasota High School. Hilma continued her education and graduated from Blinn Jr. College and taught school at Brown’s Prairie. It was on Christmas Day, December 25, 1945 at Friedens Church that she married William Earl Stolz, the son of Hilda Eben and William A. Stolz. Together they had two daughters, Connie Jean and Marla Kay.

A housewife, Hilma was a dedicated and loving wife and mother as well as care giver to her daughter, Connie Jean. Upon Connie’s death, Hilma became very active at Friedens Church. Later in life she enjoyed playing dominoes, reading and working puzzles.

Hilma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Earl Stolz, her daughter, Connie Jean Stolz, a brother Arthur Holle, sister, Willie Dell Holle Lohmeyer and son-in-law James C. Carroll.

Survivors include her daughter, Marla Stolz Carroll and her special friend, Steven Husfeld, numerous special nieces, nephews, other relatives and caring friends.

In lieu of usual remembrances, the family has suggested memorials in Hilma’s name to Friedens Church of Washington, UCC, PO Box 306, Washington, TX 77868-0306.
