Calhoun ropes his way to a World Championship

Tyler Cahoun proved he is the best in the world winning a pair of World Championships in Las Vegas. The 14-year old from Anderson won $19,500 and numerous prizes.

LAS VEGAS- Tyler Calhoun, a 14-year old tie down roper from Anderson roped his way to two world championships. 

 

Calhoun the son of Santwain and Sylvia Calhoun competed in the Mike and Sherrielyn Vegas 15 and under tiedown Dec. 6 through 14. He also competed in the Tuff Cooper Jr World Championship (formerly the Jr NFR). 

 

He qualified for both events by winning a qualifier. Coming into the finals Calhoun was ranked third in the World. Calhoun won a total of $19,500 and numerous prizes.
