Falcons narrowly fly away

BROOKSHIRE - The Royal Lady Falcons flew into the Christmas break Tuesday, Dec. 20, with a 56-53 District win over the Navasota Lady Rattlers.

 

Navasota (19-2, 1-1) played short-handed in the District 25-4A matchup.

 

Bryan Stokes and Nala Richardson, who each surpassed the 1,000-point milestone this season, led the Lady Rattlers. Stokes scored 16 points and distributed five assists. Richardson sank 14 points. Sophomore post, Tiara McCoy, contributed with nine points.

 

The Lady Rattlers are back in action Dec. 28-29 at the Leander Glenn Shootout.

 

District action resumes New Year’s Eve, Saturday, Dec. 31, as Navasota hosts Wharton. Junior varsity is scheduled for an 11 a.m. tip-off followed by varsity at 12:15 p.m. 

 

Navasota travels to El Campo Tuesday, Jan. 3, with games slated for 4:30 p.m. for junior varsity and varsity at 5:45 p.m.
