Lady Owls compete in Hill Country

BOERNE - The Anderson-Shiro Lady Owls traveled three and a half hours to compete in the Boerne volleyball tournament against a stout field consisting of all 5A and 6A schools.
None of the schools competing in the tournament in Kendall County in the Texas Hill Country knew of the Lady Owls. Anderson-Shiro opened a lot of eyes finishing the tournament 4-2. Anderson-Shiro had big wins over Medina Valley (Castroville), Brackenridge (San Antonio) and Ray (Corpus Christi). Senior Taylor Howell and junior Catie Leman made the all-tournament team.
The Lady Owls host a volleyball tournament Aug. 24 and 26. Times will be announced. They will travel to Somerville Aug. 29, with games beginning at 5 p.m.
