Lady Rattlers playoff bound

Navasota’s Lady Rattler soccer team is returning to the 4A playoffs at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28, to face Taylor at Rockdale High School.

The Navasota lady strikers knocked off Hempstead 6-0 to punch their ticket to the playoffs.

Maria Rocha dominated the Lady Bobcats, scoring two goals and assisting on three others. Reyna Uilkie also scored a pair of goals.

Lorena Cocina rounded out the scoring, footing a goal as well. Maritza Puebla and Blanco Aguayo had an assist each.

The winner of Thursday’s game will meet the winner of Salado and Bandera in the area round.
