Lady Rattlers remain in first

    Examiner photo by Matthew Ybarra Navasota senior post Jalyn Williams dominated the Sealy Lady Tigers in the paint with a double-double performance Friday, Jan. 5. She had 13 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.

The Lady Rattlers remain unbeaten in District 25-4A competition picking up a pair of wins over El Campo, 65-28, and Sealy, 42-22.

Navasota (23-3, 5-0) hosted the El Campo Lady Ricebirds Jan. 2. Bryanna Stokes paced the Lady Rattlers with 23 points. Post players, senior Jalyn Williams and junior Tiara McCoy, chipped in with 13 and 12 respectively. Rihanna Rush had 11 points and five steals. Ariyah Curley dished out nine assists.

The junior varsity girls defeated El Campo 26-6.

Navasota traveled to Sealy Jan. 5, to battle the previously unbeaten Lady Tigers. Williams had a monster game in the paint securing a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Stokes dropped 14 points. Rush grabbed eight rebounds and Curley had five assists and three steals. The Lady Rattler JV dropped their game to Sealy, 42-22, to drop to 8-11 overall and 3-2 in District 25-4A.

Navasota hosted Bellville Jan. 9 (results were not available at press time). The Lady Rattlers will host Needville Jan. 16.
