LOVELADY – The Iola Bulldogs faced defeat, 54-14, at the hands of the Lovelady Lions at Lion Stadium Friday, Sept. 9.

Coming off of last week’s win against Normangee, the Bulldogs (1-2) were looking forward to another win, but Lovelady (3-0) proved to be too much.

Although Iola couldn’t make it happen, Brian Crosby managed 59 passing yards and Wesley Alexander hauled in 27 receiving yards.

Iola Linebacker Alexander responded to the loss “We made some mistakes that we need to work on, but we are going to come back better.” Hoping to fulfill this promise, the Bulldogs will continue with their new offensive strategies under Coach Bo Barrow.

It’s a battle of the Bulldogs this week, as the Iola Bulldogs host the Thorndale Bulldogs (2-1) Friday, Sept. 16, with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
