Harris named Can-Am Rookie of the Year

DAYTON, OHIO- Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owl alumni Garrett Harris was named the 2019 Can-Am Rookie Player of the Year and Rookie Pitcher of the Year.

Harris notched nine wins, which ties him for third among all Can-Am pitchers. The Trois Rivières Aigles pitcher finished fifth with 109 strikeouts and allowed a 3.67 ERA.

Harris was the player of the month in June going 3-0 with a 2.15 ERA, striking out 42 batters and limiting opponents to a .181 batting average.

Harris picked up wins in his first seven decisions of the season.

Previously Harris pitched in the Kansas City Royals minor league organization in 2016 and 2017 competing in the Frontier League. The Navasota native pitched collegiately for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
