Mother’s Day at our home was a beautiful day inside and out. The weather was gorgeous, and it was ever so good to see my brother and sisters and their families as well as our kids and their families. We reminisced about our mothers and our kids reminisced about us.

It was good to see different scenery, but I was also nervous what to expect. My husband is the only one in our household who has been going out. It was easier for him and I since he didn’t mind going out.
Read moreArmadillos are digging in my yard and I have holes everywhere. The Robbins family have come over several times to set a trap to try and catch that varmint. Even though we have not been successful I still have high hopes. I am very blessed to live in Whitehall amongst these helpful neighbors.
Read moreSeveral area churches were open again since the coronavirus began. Evergreen Baptist Church reopened for the first time since Sunday, March 15. There were approximately 50% present with others watching online. Carlos Fellowship Church was open as well. Others are still closed but will hopefully open soon. As the Bible says, “this too will pass.” Just keep praying for things to get back to normal.

Read moreGive the Gift of Blood! The Knights of Columbus Council #4054 will host a Blood Drive on May 10, in the St. Stanislaus Parish hall. Blood and blood products are in short supply and donors are needed now to provide for this critical need. Donors must sign-up in advance online at www. giveblood.org. The Blood Center is adjusting their appointment schedule to balance out donations and prevent over-crowding during blood drives. To make an appointment, log onto the website, click on schedule to donate; under quick links select city search and enter Anderson, scroll down to St. Stanislaus, click on schedule and select a convenient time between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to donate.
