Dear Editor, I would like to thank Navasota LP Gas Co., Inc. and its owner, Chad Ross, for Saturday’s after-hours service call. People had just begun arriving for the Grimes County Crime Stoppers Law Enforcement Awards Dinner when we discovered that the propane tank had an undetected leak, and we had no heat.
Read moreIt was with great enjoyment I read the Two Rivers article concerning General Robert E. Lee in Texas. I am very much one of those who revered him and am proud his early family was from Westmoreland County, Virginia, the same as my distant relatives. Also, his first cousin, Ann T. Lee was my grandmother six times removed.

I went to Oakland Cemetery on Veterans Day to check on my parent’s grave and to put a U.S. Flag on my father’s grave. I have never seen the cemetery look so good with all the graves weed-eated and mowed. Thanks to the city manager and the volunteers for doing such a great job.
Read moreDear Editor, The Texas Silver-Haired Legislature (TSHL) fully supports and asks for your vote “FOR” PROPOSITION 9 on November 7! Read moreDear Editor, I rarely have written an opinion to the Navasota Examiner and have only done so in the past referencing our border concerns and sometimes with concerns about our local public safety issues. Other than that, I have never had a problem when asked by the media regarding topics, giving my honest and professional answers on topics that the press needed to know as journalists to do their duty to keep the public informed. The press has timelines, deadlines and their respective superiors putting pressure on reporters to get the news timely and factually to report. I can appreciate that and have always felt that my duty is to keep the press honestly informed to keep the public informed.
Read moreDear Editor,
I’m replying to Connie Clements’ opinion column, American Dream or American Nightmare, in the July 5, 2023, edition of the Navasota Examiner.
Read moreThe Grimes County College Station area is one of the most conservative areas in the state. Our state representatives for Grimes County and College Station should mirror those conservative values. Unfortunately, both the Grimes County and College Station areas are saddled with a couple of the most liberal Republican state representatives in Texas.
