Iola junior Lindsey Gooch dominated the field winning the Navasota Rattler Cross Country Invitational Wednesday, Sept. 14. This is the second cross country meet win for Gooch this season. She is a 2021 state-qualifier.

Read moreThe Iola Bulldog Cross Country team competed in Madisonville Wednesday, Aug. 31, with state qualifier, Lindsey Gooch, winning her first meet of the year. On Thursday, Sept. 8, the team ran at Waco-Midway, competing against schools from 1-A to 4-A. Each Bulldog runner shaved over a minute and a half off of their previous times. Gooch finished second among 119 competitors.

Read moreANDERSON - The Anderson- Shiro Fighting Owls outflew the Snook Bluejays 13-7, Friday, Sept. 9, at Owl Stadium. Anderson-Shiro (2-1) started off strong recovering an onside- kick and moving the ball well offensively. The drive was capped by a 12-yard run by quarterback Jordan Coronado who ran to the left and went into pay-dirt untouched. The drive featured big runs by running back Jarvis Haynes and Coronado. Coronado also connected with Kieran Gil on a big throw. Haynes finished with 92 yards rushing on 14 carries.
