The Denton Family Reunion was held at the Keith Community Center Saturday, Aug. 3. Several family members attended and enjoyed the meal. Rev. Herbert Richards, age 99, was the eldest family member in attendance. Richards is the widower of Margaret Denton Richards who died numerous years ago.

Following the meal and a time of visitation, the family went to visit her grave at Evergreen Cemetery. The family also celebrated the birthday of Marilu Richards McDonald which fell on the same day.

Keith Civic Club members had to have costly work done on their air conditioner last week. Several members also met Friday, Aug. 2, to cut and trimmed trees and hauled them away. It was a lot of work, but it really looks good.

Funeral services for Elizabeth McFarlin Thomas, age 83, of Anderson was held at the First United Methodist Church in Anderson Sunday, Aug. 4, Pastor Jeff Woodley officiated the service and burial followed in Martins Prairie Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Lindley-Robertson-Holt of Navasota. She was born Nov. 5, 1935, the daughter of John Watson and Jesse Elizabeth Sisk McFarlin. Remember her husband Clyde Thomas and other family in your prayers.

Evergreen Baptist Church members had a wonderful time during a pool party Sunday, Aug. 4, at the Phillips Event Center in Bryan. Approximately 20 children and adults attended.

There will be a back to school bash at Evergreen Baptist Church Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. The fun event will include Taco Street Grill Food Truck, Kona Ice and a mobile video game theater trailer. There will also be outdoor sports and games. The event will be fun for the entire family and everyone is invited to attend.

Evergreen Baptist Church knocked out a lot of dirt work around the pavilion during a workday Monday, Aug. 5. Doing the work were pastor Jeff Morgan, James Ray Trant, Tony Compian and Steve Biggs. Some returned the following day to complete the work. It really looks good.
