I had to tease Mr. Jack Rimes at church Sunday. I asked him if he had a new girlfriend. Mrs. Suzie has been staying with their daughter out of state for help with her medical issues and she is back. I was excited for them.

After pondering for days on how Little Man’s entire outfit was wet the other day, I finally had a clue. When I opened the shower curtain to get his bath prepared, there were two wet rolls of toilet paper in the tub. Shucks he even helped to remove them. I got the dripping wet one and he got the other one that wasn’t totally soaked. He placed it where the rolls go. Someone evidently left the door open to the other bathroom and he slipped in there for an adventure. He is fast.

The Sonshine Sisters had a great time Thursday. Shelby Seale, a graduate of Navasota and the US Army, was on leave, so he and his mom Kimberlee came to visit with us. At one time we had 10 people playing on one game of dominoes. The remaining eight players went downhill pretty fast and enjoyed every minute of it. Three ordered hamburgers from the Whitehall Café and they were really good.

Grimes County VFW Post 4006 met Thursday evening for their monthly business meeting and our favorite part, the meal. The Auxiliary served pulled pork sandwiches with all the condiments, two types of salad, chips and desserts.

The Post will host a First Responders FREE breakfast Sept. 9 in honor of 9-11, Patriot’s Day. Serving is 7-11 a.m. I hope to see a good crowd.

Please add our sick and homebound friends to your prayer list. These friends include Charlotte Serres, Frank Surovik, III, Lois Bell, Jean Fleischhauer, Sue Kolojaco, Mary Bauer, Rosa Finke, Mary Whatley, Billie Wittenbach, Suzie Rimes, Alexander Hanna, Troy Weigand, Shawn Welch, Delores Mitschke, Glenn Binder, Joanne Floyd, Von Herring and Betty Feldmann.
