The memorial service for a very special man, Richard Grimes, was perfect from the speakers to the music. Living here in our small community, he supported the White Hall VFD as he came to get his sandwich. I never saw him without a smile and friendly greeting. Please keep his family in your prayers.

Navasota Mayor Bert Miller signed a Proclamation for Buddy Poppy Day this week. As President of Grimes County VFW Post 4006, I want to thank him for helping our Auxiliary. Thank you also to Connie Clements for the picture.

I was the second victim of the Little Man Water Challenge. Maybe I should not have shown him how to work the nozzle on the water hose. Yes, he sprayed me with a smile and said, “wet?”
