A memorable Christmas

Christmas Eve is one of my favorite church services. Nothing like candlelight with the main lights in the church off and singing Silent Night. Never once did it occur to me that a shooter could be lurking around the outside threatening the congregation. I am sure those people in White Settlement didn’t have those fears either. We need to keep those people in our prayers as well as all our law enforcement who are being targeted and shot. I am not trying to preach but as Christians we have so much to pray for.

My Christmas Day was good with lots of laughing and crazy photos. I can never get them to understand that I want family photos. However, I did get a very large frame with a note attached, “family pictures to come spring 2020.” We shall see.

I decided to do most of the food, and they grazed around the island; well some sat right at it. We did the “white elephant” Christmas and that got a bit radical. The guys were seemingly happy with what they choose. Poor Chuck picked lotto tickets, but old Butch stole them. I haven’t had the heart to tell him what was on those tickets. The girls on the other hand were feisty. I had an idea that the gift I brought would stir up some cat stealing, and it did. It was one of those wooden frame things with the clips on them for pictures. Kaleigh was not too happy to lose out on that. No one dared to take the blanket that I got. I was just like my mom, hugging it with that glaring look like “don’t you even think about it!”

Today is Dec. 30 and I can’t say that it is cold outside because I have not ventured out, but I can say that it is cold inside! My house guests grew to three from one last week. That is perfectly OK since I don’t get to see them on a regular basis. Maybe one of them will take care of me one day.

I apologize to the Texas Pickers since I failed to list their schedule in my calendar of events. I totally forgot.

Our sick and homebound friends include Sue Kolojaco, Lawrence Lieder, Dorothy Mahaffey, Mary Bauer, Al-bin Finke, Rosa Finke, Lois Bell, Leon Gorney, Doug Taylor, Garry Wise, Kathy Cave Wells, Glenn Binder, Pauline Kaspar and Alexander Hanna, grandson of Curtis and Darla Kolojaco. Please add these friends to your prayer list.
