Navasota Freedom Festival Fourth of July Festival in Navasota is Friday, June 30. There will be live music by the Texas Unlimited Band, 7 p.m. at city hall. For more information visit https:// www.navasotatx.gov/home/ events/9911.

Navasota Tractor Supply will host a Farmers Market June 10, from 9 a.m. until noon.

Navasota VFW is celebrating Flag Day Wednesday, June 14, from 6-8 p.m. Join the VFW in a presentation about the American Flag and an American Flag Retirement Ceremony.

Community help is needed for a family of four that lost everything in a fire. Items can be taken to The Examiner, 115 Railroad St. Immediate need of clothing: men pants size 32-34, shoes size 9.5-10, and shirt large; women pants size 25-26, blouse small or medium and shoe size 6-7 and boy’s clothes 3T.

A Freedom Picnic in downtown Anderson will be held Saturday, July 1, at 6 p.m.

Historic Navasota will host their annual Margarita Extravaganza Saturday, June 17 from noon to 5 p.m. All retailers will be participating. Camp Allen weeklong camps continue through Aug. 5. Navasota Theatre Alliance has summer camps June 1224 for teens ages 13-18 and Rising Star Camp for ages 8-12.

Grimes County Youth Football Association will have a football/cheer camp for ages 4-12 Saturday, June 24 at Brule Stadium, 1 Stadium Drive and Brule Rock Gym, 203 Brosig Ave, in Navasota from 9 a.m. to noon. For more information email gcyfaleague@gmail.com.

Navasota Sounds of Summer Concert Series is back. The first concert is June 16, from 7-9:30 p.m. with live music, vendors and family fun. Friday, June 16 Rapture will perform; July 21 is Brown Sugar Band and Aug. 18, The Lost Boys will close out the series.
