The 2nd annual Plantersville Town Hall 52 guns raffle tickets are on sale. Tickets are $100 each and one winner will be selected each week for 52 weeks. There are only 500 tickets being sold. This year there are two featured guns, Colt Python 357 mag and Smith and Wesson model 29 made famous by the Dirty Harry series of movies.

Roans Prairie Community Center is hosting Fourth of July Ice Cream and Bingo from 2-4 p.m.

Grimes County 4-H is having a one-day camp July 8, at the Grimes County Extension Office, 205 Veterans Memorial Drive in Navasota from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. for ages 5-18. The City of Navasota and Navasota Police Department are seeking volunteers to assist during a renovation day at the shelter July 22, at 8 a.m.

A new and small landowner series will be held June 28, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Grimes County Fairgrounds. For more information call, 936-8733907.

Save the date. Macedonia Baptist Church, 6957 CR 206 in Plantersville will celebrate their 126-plus year Anniversary and Homecoming Sunday, Sept. 17, at 3 p.m. with Rev Phillips of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Washington, TX as the guest speaker.

Calling all animal lovers! The Grimes County Animal Shelter is always in need of plastic grocery sacks! Bring them by anytime during business hours, Monday through Friday, noon to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, noon to 3 p.m. For more information call 936306-5565.

City of Navasota is hosting Movies in the Park. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy movies in Brule Park, 103 Brosig Street, this summer. The city will host four total movies, one each Friday night in July with the last Friday geared towards a date night showing. Each movie will begin at dusk (around 8:30 p.m.) and will be projected onto a large inflatable screen. The lineup includes: July 7 – Puss in Boots: The Last Wish; July 14 - Night at the Museum and July 21 – The Sandlot; July 28 – Top Gun: Maverick. A Freedom Picnic in downtown Anderson will be held Saturday, July 1, at 6 p.m.
