No Keith Civic Club meeting in December
The pulpit at Evergreen Baptist Church was filled by Rev. Matt Carey of Madisonville, Sunday, Nov. 14. He was accompanied by his wife Peggy. They both used to live in the Keith community. His message was from Mark 10, and was the story of Blind Bartimaeus, who Jesus healed. The sermon was wonderful. The church pastor, Rev. Jeff Morgan and his family were out of town. He will return next week.
A tombstone was recently set in Pleasant Hill Cemetery for Billy Raymond Kolbachinski. He was born March 22, 1941 and died Feb. 18, 2021. The tombstone was purchased by his wife Sandi. The tombstone will mark her future resting place as well. May his memory be forever blessed.
A funeral was held at Hillier Funeral Home for Betty Chaney who passed away Nov. 8. She was born Dec. 26, 1936. She was the daughter of William Lafayette Churchwell and wife Hellon A.M. Carter. She was also formerly married to Carl Chaney. She was buried beside them in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Following the service, a meal was served in the fellowship hall of Carlos Fellowship Church. May her memory be blessed.
The monthly meeting of the Pyramid Masonic Lodge No 593 was held at their lodge hall in North Zulch Tuesday, Nov. 16, with several members absent due to illness. Hopefully they will recover soon. The meeting began with a meal that was enjoyed by all present. A variety of business was discussed and acted upon in the business meeting.
The monthly meeting of the Keith Civic Club was held Thursday, Nov. 18, a week early due to Thanksgiving. There was a good number of people in attendance. The covered dish meal was enjoyed by all. There will not be a meeting in December. All are looking forward to a new start in January. Hope to see you then. The portable sign that was damaged last month is back up and really looks good.
Evergreen Baptist Church is not meeting Wednesday, Nov. 24, since the next day is Thanksgiving. Service will resume the following week.
