Whitehall News

Laurie Shine asked me to share this exciting news. Please mark your calendars for Saturday, March 21, 2020. Lynn Grove United Methodist Church, 16402 CR 319, in Navasota will have Saturday Evening Worship at 5 p.m. The Wesley Foundation Bluegrass Band will be the special guests. There will be a Potluck Supper after the service, so please plan to stay for fellowship and a meal.

In addition, the Ash Wednesday Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Hempstead at 5 p.m.

The Whitehall Community VFD had a fantastic day Saturday at their monthly fundraiser. The entire amount of prepared meat was sold! Thanks again to all our devoted customers and to all the members who worked to make this event a success.

The WHCVFD met for the monthly business meeting. There were 13 members and two prospective members present. The meeting included a discussion of the constitution and a training event available in Livingston for the firefighters.

For any of the 7D festivities, you can order tickets from the website (https://www.7dranchtexas.com)or by calling Gabby at 936-870-5114.

Several of the Whitehall residents attended the Donkey basketball game at the Navasota Junior High. The halftime show included two Fang dance performances, one Diamonettes dance and several KickStart demo team groups. It was a good show and great to see so many students performing. My youngest grandchild, Chucky, did several KickStart demos and if I had to guess, I would say he was most likely the youngest performer. I can admit that when he approached his place with a stick, I was a bit alarmed. I am kidding. He loves his karate!

Thank you to the kind neighbor who moved my trash can back to my yard. That was very nice of you.

Ms. Pauline Kaspar is home recuperating with Kevin taking care of her. Knowing her like I do, she will be up and running soon because the Sonshine Sisters are really, really missing her.

Our sick and homebound friends include Sue Kolojaco, Lawrence Lieder, Dorothy Mahaffey, Mary Bauer, Albin Finke, Rosa Finke, Lois Bell, Leon Gorney, Doug Taylor, Garry Wise, Kathy Cave Wells, Glenn Binder, Pauline Kaspar, Michelle Guajardo, sister of Billy Robbins, and Alexander Hanna, grandson of Curtis and Darla Kolojaco. Please add these friends to your prayer list.
