Remembering lives lost in 2021

For the past several years I have listed the names of those in the area that died. Here are the names of those that died in 2021: Edith Walpole, Jim Bob Allen Trant, Billy Williams, Bill Raymond Kolbachinski, H.B. Bud Trant Jr., Louise Stewart Doty, Ross Allen Jarvis, Robert Wayne Burns, Michael Dennis Laird Jr., Alice Longley, Kenny Dooley, Jack Raymond Wilder, Kevin McDuffie, Kimberly Carson Doty, Carolyn Kelso Stewart, Bruce Crenshaw, Leslie Marie Route, Rev. Herbert Richards, Calvin Dean Messer Jr., John R. Porter, Wendy Skaugs Tad Brown, Mary Sue Stedman Dudley and Donald Dudley. May their memories be blessed, and may they rest in peace.

The Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at Evergreen Baptist Church was certainly a success. The service was held the evening of Dec. 24, with 137 members and visitors in attendance.

I am sure everyone in the area had a wonderful celebration with family members or friends on Christmas day. Do hope that all will have an even better year in 2022. May God bless all of us.

Area residents were sorry to learn of the death of Mary Sue Stedman Dudley who passed away Saturday, Dec. 18. She was the widow of E.E. Bugs Dudley who passed away Dec. 3, 2007. She was also the daughter of Fred and Sue Manley Stedman who preceded her in death. They are all buried in Evergreen Cemetery and Mary Sue will be buried there as well. She was born April 27, 1930. Her funeral is Thursday, Jan. 6, at Evergreen Baptist Church. There will be a covered dish meal served in the fellowship hall after the funeral. All are invited to attend the service and meal. Rev. Jeff Morgan, the pastor of the church, will officiate the service. Do remember her children and other family members in your prayers.

The church members of Evergreen Baptist Church spent Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 29, putting the Christmas decorations away for another year. The poinsettias have been given away to the people that donated them. Some were placed on family graves in Evergreen Cemetery.

Area residents were sorry to learn of the death of Donald Dudley who passed away Friday, Dec. 17. He was born Feb. 18, 1934 to John Texas Dudley and Zula Campbell Dudley. Services have not been planned at this time. Do remember his wife Elaine Dudley and other family members in your prayers.

Happy anniversary this week to the following: Jan. 1 – Katherine Carson; Jan. 3 – Itzair Itzi Thebeau; Jan. 4 – Rev. Faron W. Thebeau; Jan. 7 – Jonathan Compian; Jan. 8 – Lillian High, John Maxwell Norman, Tina Louise Humphrey, A.J. Pointer. Do hope your special day was a happy one.

Happy anniversary this week to David and Tina Parra, married Jan. 8. Do join me in wishing them many more years of happiness together.
