Zackry Pavlock proposed to his future wife Samantha Bounds on Sept. 18, 2021. On Saturday, Sept. 17, one day short of a year later, this couple tied the knot at Moore Ranch on the Brazos. A reception followed at the venue. Zackry is our K9 officer at Grimes Co. Sheriff’s Office.

Our grandson Colton Waitz, son of Dave and Brandi Waitz, will celebrate his seventh birthday Thursday, Sept. 22. Since he has football practice that evening and doesn’t want to miss it, his parents threw a small family birthday party Sunday, Sept. 18 at his home with homemade pizza of all kinds, salad and chocolate cake and ice cream. The 22nd is not only his birthday but his parents’ 10th anniversary also. It’s pecan time again, 4-H Clubs are gearing up for the 2022-2023 year starting out with the sale of those delicious pecans. Our grandson Luke Waitz is excited to start 4-H this year and will be gracious to take your order. These pecans will be in before the Thanksgiving holidays just in time to make those scrumptious pecan pies. Once you start using 4-H pecans you will never, and I mean never, go back to buying them off the shelf at a grocery store. If you are interested in ordering some, give my daughter Brandi Waitz a call, 936-537-6488 or me, Gail Sowell, 936-- 870-6842. Happy Birthday to those celebrating this week: Sept. 22 – Colton Waitz, Kirk Wichman, Ashley LaFlash, Connie Kimich, Bill Mock, Denise Shead, George Wells; Sept. 23 – Jordan LeFlore, Thomas Floyd, Jr., Easton Walkoviak, Beverly Igo; Sept. 24 – Joy Walkoviak, Kyle Molitor, Clinton Cook, Kim Ross, Shalla Roesler, Lauren Theriot, Joe Toler, Diana Branch; Sept. 25 – Wesley Schroeder, Michael Gessner; Sept. 26 – Bill Foster, Johnny Yargo, Alisha Young; Sept. 27 – Jennifer Katkoski, Gerard Szymczak, Caleb Rabun, Ryan Lyde, Michelle Belinowski, Tyler Vickers, Amy Brown, Carol Reissig; Sept. 28 – Tonya Carroll, Jennifer Garza, LuAnne Rokowitz, Marie Kampbell, Amy Keally, Ann-Marie McElroy, Julie Yargo and Jason Sowell.
