Salem Fish Fry March 24
Everyone knows I try to support my grandchildren at their school programs. I learned not to be too competitive and do something to embarrass them like I used to do to Jordan. Bean played baseball in Bellville Friday at Faith Academy. Fortunately, there was a father from Somerville who took over the yelling, arguing an out that was called on Bean. He had me laughing. The team does not have strong pitchers and they walked in quite a few runs. The coach started moving boys to the mound. The loud father hollered at Joni that Bean would be pitching. She laughed and said no, but he was placed on the mound. I lost count, but I think he was the seventh boy on the mound and the last! That big boy has never pitched, and you could tell! He threw a couple of strikes, but the other pitches were really wild. I was laughing so hard that I started coughing. Another parent from Somerville came over with a cough drop for me!
Congratulations to Christie Telthorster for earning two bronze medals at the State competition in the Honors level (the highest level). She medaled in literature and the other in social sciences. In addition, she received gold for having the highest overall score on her team. Keep up the good work Christie!
Salem Lutheran has Lenten services beginning at 6:45 p.m. each Wednesday. Visitors are welcome to come. A soup supper is served at 6 p.m. prior to the service.
Daylight saving time is just around the corner on March 12. I already need a nap.
Salem Lutheran Church will be hosting their Fish Fry on Friday, March 24, beginning at 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Dining is available at White Hall Community Center and take-out is also available. Tickets are $15. If you wish to purchase tickets ahead of time, please contact any member of the church. Come see us.
