Little Man and I celebrated Mother’s Day early. We took flowers and goodies to his mama at her job. She was excited to see him as he dragged the flowers on the floor. Waiting for her outside the office gave him the opportunity to be a greeter, telling everyone “bye” and doing his infamous knuckles bump!

Then we visited his great (3X) Aunt Norma. We had to look at the cows first then we gave her flowers and a small sweet treat. It did not take long for him to back up to her, which is a sign he wants to sit on your lap. Unfortunately, he spotted her M&Ms on the side table, so she had to share.

Joni and her group surprised me again and came to church. Leaving church was slow since the little boy had to knuckle bump people who were sitting at the end of the bench. I’m not sure who provides a red rose for each mother, but I love it! Thank you to those who shared these.

Lunch with everyone was fun especially when Bean got the wrong plate and his salad had tomato basil dressing on it (mine). I hope all mothers had a blessed day and were able to be with their family.

In 2020, Grimes County VFW Post 4006 Auxiliary lost our dear friend Janice Trant. Janice was not only our treasurer but was also the Grimes County Treasurer and treasurer for numerous other volunteer organizations. Many people donated money to the auxiliary in her honor. Last year a scholarship was given to a senior from her home town of Anderson. This year we voted to divide the money to give a senior in each school in the county a scholarship. As of now, we have given Summer Adams of Anderson Shiro ISD, Kiersten Mulle of Iola ISD and Emma Stankiewicz of Navasota ISD scholarships. Richards ISD will receive one at their graduation ceremony. Grimes County VFW Post 4006 Auxiliary wishes all these students much success!

My secret birthday caller wanted me to wish Larry “BroMan” Eickenhorst a very happy birthday. “BroMan” was born June 3, 1949. If you see him around town, please wish him a happy birthday. I enjoy telling his age since he is older than me!
